On May 11, 2016, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) announced a settlement with Gordon Food Services, Inc. for $1.85 million, to be paid to a class of 926 women. The settlement is to resolve allegations of systematic discrimination, including the use of a strength test in the hiring process. The news release can be found at: https://www.dol.gov/newsroom/releases/ofccp/ofccp20160511.
Recently the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) announced that the contract threshold requiring federal contractors to file the VETS-4212 Report was updated from $100,000 to $150,000. This increase is beginning with the 2016 filing period opening on August 1. The change is a result of the Federal Acquisition Regulation Council’s (FARC) review of the dollar threshold amounts in certain federal agency procurement related laws every five years in order to determine whether they need to be adjusted for inflation.
